Would you cater to families and business travelers? Would you be an affiliate for resorts, travel industry destinations, travel agent conglomerates? Are you presenting multiple travel deals and specials that hog space online daily? Are you willing to strike up relationships with airlines and agents?
These are all good questions.
What about time-share properties? Would these be a viable product to market? There are many people that have been burned by time-shares recently due to the economic downturns and are looking for ways to recoup their investments, either by renting out their weeks, selling the property. This may be a market to look at?
But these all seem to be dependent on what others have to offer and not what you can produce!
Since the real reason that one would consider a travel business based out of a home would be to experience the travels as well. Researching great 4 and 5 star resorts so others can visit but you would not be able to for years doesn’t motivate the vacation senses. The percentage paid for most travel related businesses would stretch out the time it takes before you’re able to visit any of them.
Traveling, a human need to visit places, friends, families or just to get away provides a strong pull. We are dying to see new places, experiencing activities that are different from the norm of our days or just to be away from typical daily activities. Vacations and traveling is a viable part of our way of life but many are taking shorter trips.
