The Jalon Valley is located in Spain’s northern Costa Blanca, west of the resorts of Denia and Javea contributing to 90 minutes from Alicante. An ideal rural location here is the perfect destination for those seeking peace in a very beautiful country setting. The Jalon Valley features vibrant farmland, vineyards, orange and lemon groves, almond, fig and cherry orchards, and magnificent mountains. Accommodation here ranges from friendly rural hotels to converted country houses and cozy smart villas.

The region attracts visitors searching for lots of outdoor activities in the mild sunny climate. The Jalon Valley is especially popular with walkers, cyclists, and artists who come to paint pictures of the amazing countryside, vineyards, and orchards. The region offers excellent riding, fishing, golf and watersports for the coast. Walkers can enjoy the trails in the spectacular Barranco del Inferno Gorge, the amazing open ridge walks inside the unspoiled limestone mountains of the Marina Alta, go to the quaint traditional villages of Lliber, Guadalest, Orba, Alcalali, and Parcent, and require a welcome break with the beauty spot of Algar Falls. Nature lovers will like the abundance of plants and creatures at Montgo Park near Javea as well as the Pego marshlands. For the more adventurous who love an adrenal rush there is certainly paragliding and climbing inside the Coll de Rates mountains.

The Jalon Valley is an ideal base for visiting the coastal towns of Javea, Altea, Denia, and Moraira, which are very traditional with fantastic beaches, including Blue Flag beaches and secluded little coves. And of course, you should visit the sleepy market city of Jalon which can be renowned for it’s locally produced honey and cured ham, and sample some wine on the local bodegas (wineries). The Jalon Valley region has many restaurants, cafes and tapas bars where one can sample local specialties like almond pastries, cakes, cured ham, sausages, locally produced honey and local vintages of wine.

The Jalon Valley makes an excellent base for a family event holiday because there are plenty of attractions inside the region to maintain everyone happy. The whole family will relish trips to Spain’s popular Terra Mitica theme park, Aqualandia, Mundomar, and Vergel Safari Park when on their holiday packages to Spain.

The Jalon Valley enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and sunny days all year round. To enjoy the great outdoors on the cheap package holidays, the best time to go to is inside the spring or autumn once the days are warm with between 6 and 9 hours of sunshine each day.
